A graduate of Herrington High School, KS. Marcy received multiple NJCAA All-American honors as a member of the Lady Thunderbird track squad from 1980-1982. Marcy is a former CCCC school record holder in the 400m dash and was a member of the NJCAA national record-setting indoor two-mile relay team in 1982. She also ran on the mile relay and two-mile relay teams at the NJCAA National Outdoor meet in 1982 that both placed third.
