The 2000-2001 Cloud County women’s basketball season was truly historic. The Lady Thunderbirds became the first-ever Kansas women’s basketball team to win the NJCAA National Championship. In route to the title, Cloud County defeated the #1, #5 and #3 ranked teams in the country. This team currently holds season records in wins (31), points (2,987), free throws made (707), free throws attempted (947), and rebounds (1,580).
