Goedert, a Concordia, Kansas native, was a member of the T-Bird baseball team where he hit .431 and set a then school-record with 77 total hits. A 2004 All-KJCCC selection, Goedert would become the first NJCAA All-American in program history before going on to play at Kansas State University. Goedert would be drafted in the ninth round of the 2006 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians, spending eight seasons in the minor leagues before going on to spend seven seasons coaching in the minor leagues. Goedert would be named the 2022 Texas League Manager of the year after leading the Frisco RoughRiders to a Texas League Championship, the second championship in franchise history
