Dan was the first superstar in Cloud County basketball history. He led the Thunderbirds to a two-year record of 43-15. Dan is one of the only two players in Kansas junior college basketball history to record at least 1,237 points and 785 rebounds in a career. He still holds all the rebound records at CCCC for career, season, and game. Dan is also the third leading career scorer in school history. He averaged an almost unbelievable 14.8 rebounds per game in 1968-1969.
