Christy Brown was a dual sport star for the Thunderbirds competing in volleyball and softball from 1995-1997. Brown was also a member of the athletic training staff at Cloud County. On the softball field, she was the starting catcher for two seasons and was named the Jayhawk West Conference MVP in 1997. She led the 1996 T-Birds to the Region VI Championship and a fourth-place finish in the NJCAA Tournament. The Scranton, KS native was also a standout on the volleyball court, ending her career as Cloud County’s second all-time leader in digs. Brown moved on to Emporia State University in softball and earned All-MIAA honors in 1999.
