    Golf/Soccer/Track & Field Coach

Beginning in the fall of 1968 and continuing through the spring of 1989, Lou Frohardt served as a golf, soccer, and track coach at CCCC. In 1970, Lou coached the T-Bird men’s track team to their first Prairie Junior College Conference Championship. In the fall of 1970, he assisted in the first PJCC Championship in men’s soccer. From the fall of 1975 to the spring of 1989, Frohardt served as men’s golf coach during which time three T-Bird golfers qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament. Lou has been a highly decorated instructor during his years at CCCC. He was co-winner of the first Phi Theta Kappa Teacher of the Year Award and has twice been awarded the NISOD teaching excellence award from the University of Texas. “I am proud to be counted among CCCC coaches. Those men and women, almost without exception, put the future well-being of their athletes above the superficial veneer of glossy won and loss records. They coach with integrity. I accept this accolade, not because of anything I accomplished, but on behalf of those young men and women of CCCC who gave everything they had to the best of their ability. Their names may never appear on a plaque, but they are the core of what is good and honorable about athletics – the joy of competition, the camaraderie of teammates, the struggle to reach the heights.” – Lou Frohardt.
