Larry was the first men’s basketball coach in Cloud County history. In nine years at Cloud, his teams compiled a record of 167-99. Five of his teams won 20 or more games and in eight seasons as a member of the Prairie Junior College Conference, his teams never finished lower than second. Forsythe was named PJCCC Coach-of-the-Year in 1970, 1974, and 1975. CCCC won five Region VI Sub-Regional Championships under Forsythe and in 1969 became the first non-Jayhawk Conference team to win a game in the Region VI Tournament.
