Box Score 2 The Cloud County Community College softball team faced Allen Community College in a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) doubleheader on Monday, April 27, suffering defeats in both games with final scores of 7-6 and 11-5.
Cloud County (18-16, 9-9 KJCCC)Â led 6-2 in game one before Allen scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a late lead.
The T-Birds opened the contest by plating two runs in the first inning when sophomore outfielder

Maliyah Koster to give Cloud County a 2-0 advantage.

Brooke Lougheed added a two-run home run in the top of the second inning to make it 4-0.
The Red Devils posted runs in the second and third innings to trim the deficit to 4-2.
After both teams were kept off the scoreboard in the fourth and fifth frames, Cloud County pushed their lead to 6-2 in the top of the sixth inning when Lougheed singled home sophomore catcher
Emalee Johnson and freshman pitcher
Ava Boden.
One at-bat at a time, Allen put together a five-run sixth frame to grab the lead. Cloud County had two in scoring position in the top of the seventh, but ended the game with an infield pop out.
Harold led the T-Birds with a 3-for-4 performance with a double and a RBI. Lougheed went 2-for-4 with a home run, one run scored and four RBI. Boden also contributed two hits with two runs scored.
Boden pitched six innings, allowing seven earned runs on 13 hits while issuing one walk.
In the second game, Cloud County opened the scoring with Gardner's RBI single, bringing Curtis home. Sophomore catcher
Yesenia Zamarron singled to score Harold to give the T-Birds a 2-0 advantage at the end of the first inning.
Allen took control with four runs in the third and two more in the fourth to lead 6-2.
Cloud County quickly responded with three runs in the top half of the fifth. Zamarron doubled to score freshman second baseman
Allison Adams. Johnson followed with a double of her own, driving in freshman short stop
Jaci Vonlintel and Zamarron to narrow the gap to 6-5.
Allen extended its lead in the sixth with five more runs.
Harold pitched 5.1 innings, allowing nine earned runs on 12 hits with seven strikeouts and three walks. Curtis entered in relief for the final two-thirds of an inning, giving up no runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Adams, Gardner, Harold, Johnson and Zamarron each collected two-hit performances. Johnson and Zamarron both added two RBI.
The T-Birds will be back in action on Thursday, April 30 when they host Cowley College for a KJCCC doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 pm.
