After helping lead the Cloud County Community College softball team to its first postseason appearance since 2019 and guiding the T-Birds to their first postseason win since 2017, two Cloud County sophomores have announced their commitment to four-year schools.

Berkleigh Curtis will join Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, a NCAA Division II school in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), while short stop
Maliyah Koster will head to Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, a NCAA Division II institution in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).
As a sophomore in 2026, Curtis hit .303 at the plate with 40 hits. Curtis led the T-Birds with 16 doubles and 13 stolen bases. Curtis also collected one triple, three home runs, 41 runs scored and 23 RBI.
In the circle, Curtis started five games, finishing with a 2-3 record. Curtis had the second-lowest ERA on the pitching staff at 5.35 in 34 innings pitched.
Koster was a honorable mention All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 selection as a freshman after batting .355 with a .484 slugging percentage, leading the team with 29 runs scored on 44 hits with eight doubles, one triple and two home runs.
This past spring, Koster hit .314 with 38 hits, 28 runs scored and 19 RBI in 32 games before being sidelined with an injury.
