The Cloud County Community College baseball team remains No. 4 in the latest NJCAA Division I Baseball Rankings Presented by Netting Professionals.
The T-Birds beat Dodge City Community College in a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) series last week. Cloud County won Thursday, March 26 by final scores of 13-0 in five innings and 7-4 in nine innings. After being edged in a tight 11-10 loss in game three on Saturday, March 28, Cloud County dominated game four, winning by a final score of 28-6.
In improving to 29-3 on the season and 14-2 in KJCCC action, the T-Birds outscored the Conquistadors 58-21 and collected 68 hits during the four-game series. In the second game of the twinbill on Saturday, Cloud County established new program records for most runs and hits in a game. Cloud County's 28 runs broke the previous record of 26 set earlier this season in the team's 26-4 road win at Pratt on March 7, 2026. The T-Birds also smashed 27 hits in the game, topping the program's previous record of 24 hits that had stood since 1983.
There are three KJCCC teams in the top 25. Johnson County Community College (34-2) is ranked No. 1, while Hutchinson Community College (29-5) is ranked No. 12.
Cloud County will meet up with Hutchinson for a four-game series this week. The T-Birds and Blue Dragons will play two games at Lee Doyen Field in Concordia on Thursday, April 2, before heading to Hutchinson for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 4.
