Box Score Four T-Birds reached double-figures in scoring to lead the Cloud County Community College women's basketball team to a 70-55 road win over Pratt Community College in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play on Wednesday, February 18. The victory allowed the T-Birds to sweep the regular season series with the Beavers, improving Cloud County's record to 11-14 overall and 7-13 in KJCCC action.

Pratt scored the first two points of the game on a layup by freshman Polla Balint. Cloud County responded with a 7-0 run to move in front and the T-Birds never trailed again. Cloud County led 14-9 at the end of the first quarter and maintained a five point advantage going into halftime.

The T-Birds pushed their lead up to 15 in the third quarter before Pratt cut the deficit down to 11 points with 7:48 remaining. Cloud County again answered with a 15-9 run to bring its lead to 17 points before coasting to the 70-55 victory.

Cloud County shot 22-of-50 (44.0 percent) from the floor, including 6-of-24 (25.0 percent) from three-point range. The T-Birds connected on 20-of-25 (80.0 percent) shots from the foul line. Pratt outrebounded Cloud County by a 35-26 margin, but the T-Birds forced the Beavers into 20 turnovers compared to Cloud County's nine.

Sophomore forward Leila Washington led Cloud County with 17 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. Sophomore guard Lauren Marron added 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Freshman guard Camiah Muldrow finished the contest with 15 points, six rebounds and three assists. Sophomore forward Shea Wurtz added 10 points and six rebounds, while freshman guard Amanda Makela had seven points and a team-high four steals. 

Pratt shot just 21-of-54 (38.9 percent) from the floor, including 3-of-23 (13.0 percent) from downtown. Balint led the Beavers with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
 
Cloud County hosts Fort Hays Tech Northwest for Sophomore Day on Saturday, February 21. Tip-off from Arley Bryant Gymnasium is scheduled for 2 pm.
