Box Score The Cloud County Community College women's basketball team slumped to its lowest scoring output of the season, falling behind early in a 66-39 loss to Barton Community College in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play on Monday, January 26 in Great Bend, Kansas.
The T-Birds shot a season-low 12-of-57 (21.1 percent) from the field and 4-of-19 (21.1 percent) from three-point range with 17 turnovers. Barton outrebounded Cloud County 53-27, and outscored the T-Birds 12-2 in second-chance points and 34-10 in points in the paint.

Amanda Makela led Cloud County in scoring with eight points with two made three-pointers, marking her 12th game this season with multiple three-point baskets. Sophomore forward

Jelena Jankovic, making her fourth start of the season, added six points in the loss.
Barton scored the first ten points of the contest as the T-Birds were held without a field-goal for the first six minutes and thirty three seconds of play. Cloud County managed to narrow the deficit to six points at the end of the opening quarter, but the Cougars limited the T-Birds to just one made field-goal in the second period and outscored Cloud County 20-5 in the frame to take a 21-point halftime lead. Barton maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way, including leading by as many as 33 points in the fourth quarter.
The game marked the first time Cloud County has been held below 40 points since a 69-36 loss to Barton on March 7, 2023 in that year's Region 6 Tournament quarterfinals.
Cloud County (8-11, 4-10 KJCCC) next hosts Cowley College at 6 pm on Wednesday, January 28.
