Cloud County Women's Basketball Team to Open 2026 with Home Matchup Against Pratt

The Cloud County Community College women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, January 3 as the T-Birds host Pratt Community College in their first game of 2026.

Tip-off from Arley Bryant Gymnasium is set for 2 pm and the game will be streamed live on the T-Bird Sports Network.

Cloud County enters the game with a record of 5-7 and the T-Birds are 1-6 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play after dropping a 77-67 conference game to No. 18 Hutchinson Community College on December 13 in Hutchinson. Sophomore forward Shea Wurtz led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Freshman guard Amanda Makela provided 14 points, five rebounds and three assists. Freshman forward Sofija Todorovic added 13 points, six rebounds and four assists, while freshman guard Camiah Muldrow finished in double-figures with 10 points, five rebounds and four assists. Freshman forward Leila Washington chipped in nine points and four rebounds.

Three of Cloud County's five wins this season have come at Arley Bryant Gymnasium, including their 76-68 win over then-No. 25 Coffeyville Community College in KJCCC play on December 10.

Muldrow has scored in double-figures in ten consecutive games. The freshman from Fairburn, Georgia is the No. 3 leading scorer in the KJCCC, averaging 19.3 points per game. Muldrow also leads Cloud County at 4.0 assists per contest while ranking second in the KJCCC at 87.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Washington averages 12.8 points per game while shooting 48.4 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from three-point range. Washington ranks fifth in the KJCCC in rebounding at 7.6 rebounds per game, and she ranks second in the KJCCC in blocked shots at 1.4 total blocks per game.

Wurtz reached double-figures in scoring for the third time in conference play in the team's game against Hutchinson. Wurtz is averaging 11.2 points per game on 46.0 percent shooting from the field, while also pulling down a team-leading 8.3 rebounds per contest, which ranks third overall in the KJCCC. Wurtz also ranks first on the team in steals at 2.3 steals per game.

Todorovic is also scoring in double-figures at 11.2 points per game. Todorovic currently leads the team in field-goal percentage, shooting 48.5 percent from the field, while adding 5.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

Pratt Community College is 6-7 overall and 2-6 in KJCCC play. The Beavers lost all four of their games in the month of December, dropping road contests to Barton and Cowley and home games to Seward County and Dodge City. Pratt is led by freshman guard La'Kyra Johnson, who is averaging 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Sophomore guard Tyriana Stanford is also scoring in double-digits at 12.1 points per game. The Beavers are coached by Christopher Jefferson, who is in his second season at Pratt.

Cloud County has won four of its last five meetings and seven of its last ten games played against Pratt, dating back to 2020. The T-Birds swept the regular season series last year, including claiming an 82-54 win at home.
