The Cloud County Community College women's basketball team concludes the first semester with a road game on Saturday, December 13 at No. 18 Hutchinson in the Hutchinson Sports Arena at 2 pm.

Cloud County ended a five-game losing streak on December 10 with a 76-68 home win over No. 25 Coffeyville Community College. The T-Birds erased a 10-point second-half deficit by outscoring the visiting Red Ravens 23-10 over the final ten minutes of action. Cloud County closed the night by connecting on 16-of-18 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Defensively, the T-Birds held Coffeyville to 2-of-21 (9.5 percent) shooting from the floor in the final period, including just 1-of-10 (10.0 percent) from three-point range.
Freshman guard
Camiah Muldrow powered the T-Birds with 28 points, including going 14-of-14 from the foul line. Muldrow added eight rebounds and five assists. Freshman forward
Leila Washington turned in 16 points with three made three-pointers to go with seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Sophomore
Shea Wurtz and freshman
Sofija Todorovic provided seven points each. Freshmen
Amanda Makela and
Marilyn Soeken delivered six points each, while sophomore
Lauren Marron and freshman
Jelena Jankovic scored three points apiece.
The T-Birds have improved to 5-6 on the season and 1-5 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play. Cloud County averages 78.5 points per game and is allowing 73.5 points per game on average. The T-Birds shoot 41.9 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from three-point range, and a conference-leading 75.1 percent from the free-throw line.
Muldrow has scored in double-digits ten times this season and averages 20.2 points per game, which is good for second-best in the KJCCC. Muldrow also averages 5.2 rebounds, a team-leading 4.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, while she ranks second in the conference in free-throw percentage at 89.3 percent.
Washington is scoring 13.1 points per game on a team-leading 49.6 percent shooting from the field. Washington is also grabbing 7.9 rebounds per game and ranks second in the KJCCC at 1.4 blocked shots per contest.
Todorovic ranks third on the team in scoring, averaging 11.0 points per game. She also ranks third on the team in rebounding at 5.8 rebounds per game, and third on the team in assists at 2.9 assists per game.
Wurtz has three double-doubles on the season and is averaging 10.5 points per game and a team-best 8.1 rebounds per game, ranking fourth individually in the KJCCC. Wurtz also leads the T-Birds at 2.3 steals per contest.
Makela is averaging 8.5 points per game and leads the team with 21 made three-pointers on a 36.8 percent shooting clip. Makela adds 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.
Other Cloud County regulars include Jankovic (6.9 points per game), Soeken (4.6 points per game), Marron (3.6 points per game), and freshman guardÂ

Hutchinson has won six straight games and 12 of its last 13 meetings against Cloud County. The Blue Dragons are ranked No. 18 and hold an overall record of 10-3 and a 5-2 mark in KJCCC play. Hutchinson had a four-game winning streak snapped with a 79-57 road loss at No. 1 Dodge City Community College on December 10.
Freshman guard KaMyra Barber leads the Blue Dragons with 13.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Sophomore guard Katie Duncan is scoring 13.2 points per game on 41.3 percent shooting to go with a team-leading 3.0 steals per contest. Freshman guard Whitney Brown is also scoring in double-figures at 10.6 points per game.
