Box Score The Cloud County Community College women's basketball team picked up its first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) win of the season on Wednesday, December 10, taking down No. 22 Coffeyville Community College, 76-68, inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium. The T-Birds erased a 10-point second-half deficit by outscoring the visiting Red Ravens 23-10 over the final ten minutes of action.
Cloud County closed the night by connecting on 16-of-18 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Defensively, the T-Birds held Coffeyville to 2-of-21 (9.5 percent) shooting from the floor in the final period, including just 1-of-10 (10.0 percent) from three-point range.

Camiah Muldrow powered the T-Birds with 28 points, including going 14-of-14 from the foul line. Muldrow added eight rebounds and five assists. Freshman forward

Cloud County shot 42.6 percent from the field with eight made three-pointers. The T-Birds finished 22-of-26 (84.6 percent) from the free-throw line. Coffeyville won the glass 42-38, but second-chance points were even at four points each. The Red Ravens generated 32 points in the paint but struggled from long-range, shooting just 24.0 percent from behind the arc.
Freshman guard Esme Smith led the Red Ravens with 23 points and a game-high 18 rebounds. Sophomore guard Karliey Parker joined her in double-figures with 10 points and five assists. Sophomores Aubrey Hishaw and Hallie Kitchen each added nine points, while sophomore Isabella Pehrson scored eight points with seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocked shots.
Cloud County separated itself in a tightly fought first quarter, using an 11-4 run sparked by Muldrow and Washington to take a 16-9 lead following a triple by Marron with 18 seconds remaining in the first frame. The T-Birds held most of the lead in the first-half, extending its advantage to ten points on a layup by Wurtz at the 6:08 mark of the second quarter. Coffeyville responded with an 18-7 run, and the T-Birds entered the break trailing 35-34.
Coffeyville came out strong to open the second-half, grabbing a 53-43 lead behind Smith's nine points in the period. Muldrow hit two free-throws while Jankovic and Soeken knocked down back-to-back three-pointers to pull Cloud County within four points at 55-51 with 1:12 remaining in the third quarter.Â
Coffeyville pushed its lead back out to six points early in the fourth quarter. The T-Birds answered with a 7-1 run, tying the game at 62. From there, Cloud County controlled the final three minutes, going 9-of-10 from the free-throw line to stretch their lead back to double-digits inside the final minute.
Cloud County has improved its record to 5-6 overall and 1-5 in KJCCC play. The T-Birds will be on the road at Hutchinson Community College to take on the No. 18-ranked Blue Dragons on Saturday, December 13 at 2 pm.
