Box Score Five members of the No. 11-ranked Butler Community College women's basketball team scored in double-figures, and the Grizzlies shot 47.0 percent from the field with eight three-pointers, as they handed the Cloud County Community College women's basketball team an 83-54 loss in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play on Wednesday, January 14 in Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
The T-Birds committed a season-high 25 turnovers, which led to 27 points off turnovers for Butler. The Grizzlies outrebounded Cloud County, 45-28, leading to 19 second-chance points for Butler compared to Cloud County's 10.

Sofija Todorovic led the T-Birds with 11 points off the bench, finishing as the lone Cloud County player in double-digits. Freshman guards
Camiah Muldrow and
Amanda Makela had eight points each.
Cloud County shot 19-of-53 (35.8 percent) from the field, 5-of-20 (25.0 percent) from three-point range, and 11-of-17 (64.7 percent) from the foul line.
The Grizzlies rolled to an early lead, going up 16-8 on a three-pointer by sophomore guard Destiny Smith with 2:01 remaining in the first quarter. A triple by sophomore guard Mya Mayberry a minute later gave Butler a ten-point lead at 21-11.
The Grizzlies increased the margin to 12 points early in the second period before Cloud County answered with a 12-2 run, highlighted by three-pointers from Muldrow, Makela and sophomore forward
Leila Washington, to trim the deficit to 25-23 with 4:21 to play in the first-half. Washington added a layup to knot the score at 25 with 3:14 to go. Butler closed out the quarter on an 8-3 run to head into the half with a 33-28 lead.
Butler opened the second half on a 17-2 run, putting them up by 20 at 50-30 with 5:18 left in the third quarter. The Grizzlies shot 64.7 percent from the floor and 71.4 percent from behind the arc in the third frame, while forcing seven turnovers on the defensive end, pushing their lead out to as many as 21. The T-Birds would never get closer than 15 points the rest of the way.
Washington finished with five points and five rebounds. Sophomore forward
Shea Wurtz had five points, three steals and two rebounds. Freshman forward
Marilyn Soeken had five points and a team-high six rebounds. Freshman guard
Jelena Jankovic hit two treys to finish with six points. Freshman guard
Sadie Cornell had four points, while freshman forward
Kennedy Dodds finished with two points.
The loss is Cloud County's second in a row, dropping the T-Birds to 7-9 overall and 3-8 in KJCCC play. Cloud County will next host Independence Community College on Saturday, January 17 at 2 pm in Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
