The Cloud County Community College women's basketball team looks to close out its homestand with another Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) test, hosting Independence Community College on Saturday, January 17 inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
Tip-off is set for 2 pm and the game will be streamed live on the
T-Bird Sports Network. Fans can also listen on

Cloud County enters the contest with a record of 7-9 and a 3-8 mark in KJCCC action. The T-Birds are 4-5 at Arley Bryant Gymnasium this season and began its two-game homestand with an 83-54 defeat to No. 11 Butler Community College on January 14. The Grizzlies outscored the T-Birds 50-26 in the second-half.
Freshman forward
Sofija Todorovic led the T-Birds with 11 points off the bench, finishing as the lone Cloud County player in double-digits. Freshman guards
Camiah Muldrow and
Amanda Makela had eight points each. Freshman guard
Jelena Jankovic hit two treys to finish with six points. Sophomore forward
Leila Washington finished with five points and five rebounds. Sophomore forward
Shea Wurtz had five points, three steals and two rebounds. Freshman forward
Marilyn Soeken had five points and a team-high six rebounds. Freshman guard
Sadie Cornell had four points, while freshman forward
Kennedy Dodds finished with two points.
Muldrow, the reigning KJCCC Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week, had scored in double-figures in 13 straight games prior to the team's game against Butler. Muldrow leads the team in scoring at 19.4 points per game, while continuing to lead the team in assists (3.6 assists per game) and free-throw percentage (82.0 percent).
Washington battled foul trouble and tied a season-low with two made field-goals against Butler. Washington is scoring 12.9 points per game on a team-best 49.1 percent shooting from the field. Washington is also averaging 7.6 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocked shots per game.
Wurtz is Cloud County's No. 3 leading scorer at 10.4 points per game and she's first on the team in rebounding at 8.1 rebounds per game. Wurtz also leads the team with 2.2 steals per game.
Todorovic is now averaging 10.1 points per game. Todorovic also pulls down 5.5 rebounds per game, while ranking second on the team in assists at 2.9 assists per game.
Makela has started 15 of the team's 16 games this season. Makela is averaging 8.9 points per game and leads Cloud County with 30 made three-pointers. She has made at least one three-pointer in ten straight conference games.
The next challenge for the T-Birds comes from Independence, who comes to Concordia with a record of 4-13 and a 1-10 mark in KJCCC play. The Pirates have lost six consecutive games since their 61-55 road win over Fort Hays Tech Northwest on December 3, 2025. Independence is averaging 49.7 points per game. The Pirates are shooting 30.8 percent from the field and 23.4 percent from three-point range.
Cloud County has won two straight and five of their last six meetings with Independence, including a 75-61 home win over the Pirates last year.
