Cloud County Softball Ends Regular Season with Two Losses at No. 20 Cowley College

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Cloud County Community College softball team was swept on the road by No. 20 Cowley College in their final Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference matchup, falling 11-0 in five innings in game one and 8-0 in six innings in game two.

Cowley wins the 2025 KJCCC Division 2 regular season title after finishing the year at 38-12 overall and 20-2 in conference action.

The T-Birds conclude the regular season at 16-28 overall and 7-15 in KJCCC play, marking a five-win improvement over last season's conference performance. The team also wrapped up its season winning six of its final nine games.

Cloud County was limited to one hit in game one, which was a second inning single by sophomore Camille Stauffer.

Cowley College scored three runs on three hits in the bottom of the first inning, highlighted by a three-run home run by sophomore Krisyana Pellet.

The Tigers later loaded the bases with one out in the top of the fourth inning. Following RBI singles by freshman Gracy Smith and sophomore Kanon Goji, sophomore Paige Scanlin went deep for the 11th time this season on a three-run home run to center field to push the lead to 9-0. Cowley added two more runs in the fourth frame on defensive errors by the T-Birds to take the first half of the twin bill, 11-0.

Cowley College kept the momentum going in game two. The Tigers plated two runs on three hits in the second inning, before adding one run in both the third and fourth frames, followed by a pair of runs in the fifth. Cowley College ended the game in the sixth inning on a walk-off solo home run to center field by sophomore pitcher Ezra Arredondo to score the 8-0 win.

The T-Birds tallied three hits in the loss. Freshman Berkleigh Curtis had a base-hit to left in the second inning. Freshman Maliyah Koster added a single to center field in the fourth, while freshman Bella Santin reached on a ground rule double in the fifth.
