N Vanee Anchike Breaks School Record in 1,500M, Cloud County Women's Track and Field Team Claims Six Event Wins

Cloud County Community College sophomore N Vanee Anchike broke her own school record performance in the 1,500M Run and the T-Bird women's track and field team claimed a total of six event wins at the 2025 Mark A. Phillips Invitational in Arkansas City, Kansas on Saturday, March 29.

Anchike broke her own school record in 1,500M Run in a national qualifying time of 4:31.17, cruising to the event win. Freshman Mercy Angaamchaab followed with a second place, national qualifying performance time of 4:43.30. Freshman Amanda Kotambe placed third individually in a national qualifying time of 4:52.88.

Kotambe was also part of the Cloud County Women's 4x400M Relay team that produced a first place finish in a time of 4:08.33. Other team members were sophomore Jaelyn Rumback and freshmen Carlie Carlgren and Maimuna Jallow. A second T-Bird team consisting of Angaamchaab and sophomores Bradie Medina, Joella Mathilda and Nontokozo Ncube placed third overall in the Women's 4x400M Relay in a time of 4:16.17.

Rumback ran a time of 1:10.51 in the Women's 400M Hurdles to place first overall.

In the Women's 100M Hurdles, freshman Nanhi Pannu won the event in a time of 15.01. Carlgren placed fifth individually in a time of 16.22, while sophomore Maeva Cure was seventh overall in a time of 18.93.

The Cloud County women also had two first place finishes in field events. Sophomores Chenessa Davis and Cordaelia Williams tied for first overall in the Women's High Jump at a height of 5'1", while sophomore Vivica Addison earned a first place finish in the Women's Javelin with a throw of 124'3". Carlgren placed fourth in the Women's Javelin with a throw of 98'5".

Pannu added a runner-up performance in the Women's Long Jump, jumping 17'10.75". Freshman Nele Goesl followed in third place at a distance of 17'9". Freshman Tahlia Lienert placed sixth in the Women's Long Jump at 16'5.25", and freshman Kiley Smich followed in seventh place at a distance of 15'9.5".

Pannu also captured a fifth place finish in the Women's 200M Run in a time of 25.26. Lienert was sixth overall in the Women's 200M Run in a time of 25.39.

Mathilda placed third individually in the Women's 400M Run, posting a time of 1:08.98.

Sophomore Margherita Sala notched a fourth place finish in the Women's Hammer Throw with a throw of 147'6". Addison finished seventh overall in the Women's Hammer Throw with a throw of 133'2".

Sala also scored a sixth place finish in the Women's Discus with a toss of 123'5".

Smich landed a fifth place finish in the Women's Triple Jump with a jump of 34'9.5".

The T-Birds will compete next in the 2025 Friends University Spring Open April 3-5 at Adair-Austin Stadium on the campus of Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.
