Cloud County Women's Track & Field Team Enjoys Nine Event Wins at Mark A. Phillips Tiger Classic

The Cloud County Community College women's track and field team enjoyed nine event wins at the Mark A, Phillips Tiger Classic in Arkansas City, Kansas on Saturday, March 28.

Freshman thrower Natassia Burrell won three events. Burrell took first place in the Women's Discus with a throw of 157'11". Freshman Zoey Sudbeck placed third with a toss of 140'6", while freshman Eliza Miles placed fifth with a toss of 118'8".

Burrell won the Women's Hammer Throw with a throw of 157'3". Sudbeck finished in seventh place with a throw of 129'6".

Burrell also claimed a first place finish in the Women's Javelin with a throw of 135'2". Sophomore Carlie Carlgren posted a ninth place finish with a mark of 101'8", while sophomore Tahlia Lienert followed in tenth place at 85'2".

Lienert also recorded three event wins. Lienert earned a first place finish in the Women's 100M Hurdles with a time of 14.55. Freshman Addy Goeckel placed fifth with a time of 15.58. Freshman Arihanna Koehn was seventh individually with a time of 16.06, while Carlgren finished in ninth place with a time of 16.71.

Lienert won the Women's Long Jump with a leap of 17'6". Sophomore Nele Gösl placed third at a distance of 17'4.75".

Lienert, Carlgren, Goeckel and Koehn were part of the Women's 4x100M Relay team that secured a first place finish with a time of 4:01.92. A second Cloud County team of freshmen Makaiah Hitchman, McKenzie Baker, Scholastica Herman and Alexis Smith placed third with a time of 4:08.22.

Baker won the Women's 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 12:40.84.

Herman won the Women's 1500M Run with a time of 4:44.64. Freshman Jade Williams placed tenth in the Women's 1500M Run with a time of 5:41.13.

Freshman Maureen Jepchirchir added a first place finish in the Women's 5000M Run with a time of 19:40.73.

Also on the track, Smith posted a runner-up finish in the Women's 400M Dash with a time of 58.59. Hitchman placed third with a time of 1:00.99.

Goeckel captured a second place finish in the Women's 400M Hurdles with a time of 1:06.42. Koehn followed in third place with a time of 1:06.54.

Freshman Amia Todman recorded a seventh place finish in the Women's 200M Dash with a time of 27.18.

Williams notched a sixth place finish in the Women's 800M Run with a time of 2:36.43.

In field events, Sudbeck placed third overall in the Women's Shot Put with a toss of 38'4". Miles placed seventh with a toss of 35'10.5".

The T-Birds next head to Emporia, Kansas for the Midwest Classic and Multis at Emporia State University on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4.
