Box Score The Cloud County Community College women's basketball team picked up their first win of the 2025-2026 season on Friday, November 7, defeating Neosho County Community College by a final score of 97-71 on the opening day of the BSN Tip-Off Classic in Hutchinson, Kansas. The T-Birds (1-1) utilized a trio of double-doubles and a dominant second half to cruise to their fourth consecutive win over the Panthers.
Cloud County led 40-31 at the half and built their lead out to as many as 29 points after outscoring the Panthers 57-40 in the second half.
The T-Birds had a balanced scoring effort, led by sophomore forward
Shea Wurtz. Wurtz, who made 8-of-17 shots from the field and 6-of-7 from the foul line to her game-high 22 points, was one of three T-Birds to register a double-double after also garnering 10 rebounds in the contest, including eight on the offensive end of the floor. Wurtz added six steals, three assists and two blocks in 29 minutes of play.
Seven different T-Birds were in the scoring column in the win. Sophomore forward
Leila Washington scored 20 points while capturing a game-high 12 rebounds. Freshman forward
Sofija Todorovic scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out five assists. Freshman guard
Amanda Makela accompanied her with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including knocking down 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Makela added five assists. Freshman guard
Jelena Jankovic had 11 points with two made three-pointers. Freshman guard
Camiah Muldrow followed closely with nine points and a team-best seven assists, while sophomore guard
Lauren Marron chipped in three points.
Cloud County went 35-of-71 (49.3 percent) from the field while making 8-of-18 shots (44.5 percent) from behind the arc. The T-Birds were also 19-of-28 (67.9 percent) from the free-throw line. Cloud County dominated the glass, outrebounding Neosho County 52-38, leading to a 22-17 advantage in second chance points and a 50-24 advantage in points in the paint. The T-Birds also notched significantly more fast break points, 30-11.
The T-Birds will conclude play in the BSN Tip-Off Classic against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Saturday, November 8. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm inside the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
