Box Score Sophomore guard Regina Donanu scored a new school-record 43 points to help the Barton Community College women's basketball team to an 86-80 decision over Cloud County Community College in a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) contest inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium on Saturday, November 22. With the loss, the T-Birds have fallen to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in KJCCC play, while Barton improves to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in KJCCC action.
Donanu converted 13-of-21 field goals, including 3-of-3 from three-point range, and 14-of-16 free throws while posting five rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes. Sophomore guard Alaina Eck tallied 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting with two made triples. Eck also grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists in 33 minutes. Sophomore guard Kodi Greer added 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting with three made baskets from behind the arc.

Shea Wurtz added a bucket in the paint to help trim the deficit to five points, 28-23, at the end of the first quarter.
Barton maintained a single-digit advantage for the first five minutes of the second quarter before building a 41-31 lead at the 4:23 mark. The Cougars then ended the first-half on a 9-4 run to lead 50-35 at the break.
Barton opened the second half with a 15-10 run to capture its biggest lead of the game at 65-45 on a three-pointer by Eck with 5:45 to play in the third quarter. The T-Birds answered with a 13-3 run after five points from Wurtz, a pair of three-pointers by Washington and freshman guard
Amanda Makela, and two free-throws from freshman guard
Marilyn Soeken, pulling back to within ten points at 68-58 headed to the fourth quarter.
Cloud County later trimmed the deficit to four points at 77-73 after a layup by Muldrow with 3:08 remaining. Donanu then scored eight of the final nine points for Barton, with six of her points coming from the foul line, allowing the Cougars to maintain a two-possession lead and ultimately seal the victory.
Barton shot 29-of-61 (47.5 percent) from the floor, including 8-of-13 (61.5 percent) from three-point range. The Cougars also ended up 20-of-25 (80.0 percent) from the free-throw line. The T-Birds finished 31-of-70 (44.3 percent) from the field, 10-of-28 (35.7 percent) from behind the arc, and 8-of-12 (66.7 percent) from the foul line.
Cloud County posted a 44-30 rebound advantage, including a 17-8 edge on the offensive glass. The T-Birds also outscored the Cougars 22-9 in second-chance points and 36-28 on points in the paint.
Wurtz led five T-Birds in double-figures with 18 points and eight rebounds. Washington totaled 16 points with four made three-pointers to go with eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Jelena Jankovic added 10 points off the bench.
