The Cloud County Community College women's basketball team plays its second game in a five-day span Thursday, November 7 as the T-Birds play host to Concorda University JV at 6 pm. The two schools met last year with Cloud County winning by a score of 80-57 on November 8, 2023.
The T-Birds earned its first win of the season on Sunday, November 3 with an impressive 85-64 win over Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa in the home opener in Arley Bryant Gymnasium. The T-Birds led by as many as 24 points and scored a staggering 34 points off of 32 turnovers committed by the Mavericks.
Freshman guard
Bre Frazier led three T-Birds in double-figures with 20 points, going 12-of-15 from the foul line. She also added four rebounds and four assists to her stat line. Frazier was joined in double-figures by freshman forward
Talasia Thomas, who had 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field while adding five rebounds and five steals. Sophomore transfer
TiAna Davis finished with 11 points, four rebounds and a team-high six assists.
Cloud County showed off its ability to score inside, posting 51 of its points from inside the arc, including 40 points in the paint. The team was just 3-of-25 (12.0 percent) from long-range, with all three outside makes coming from sophomore wing
Darcy Lierz, but the T-Birds managed to hit on 20-of-30 (66.7 percent) attempts from the free-throw line.
The T-Birds have won 25 straight games against JV opponents dating back to the 2013-2014 season.
Last year, Cloud County ended the regular season 11-5 at home, which included winning their first five home games to begin the season.

Following their match up with Concordia University JV, Cloud County heads to Norfolk, Nebraska on Saturday, November 9 to face the Northeast Community College Hawks at 1 pm. Northeast is out to a 1-0 start to begin the year following a 92-45 home win over Midland University JV on November 4. The Hawks will meet the Bobcats of Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska on Wednesday, November 6, prior to this weekend's game against Cloud County. The T-Birds have won two of the last three meetings with Northeast, including a 79-48 win over the Hawks in Concordia on November 11, 2023.
