Box Score

Seven T-Birds scored in double figures and three players notched season highs in the win. Cloud shot 51.9% from the field on the night. They had not shot over 40% from the field since a loss at Butler to open the second semester on January 2nd.

Cloud actually started the game sluggishly. They allowed Colby to hang around early on and the Trojans led 10-8 at the 4:30 mark in the 1st quarter. Trojan freshman Kyra Tucker kept Colby in it as she would nail three from deep in the quarter. Tucker finished with a game high 26 points. Cloud County got seven first quarter points from Kaley Broeckelman and six from Darby Price to help take a 22-18 lead at the end of the first.

The T-Birds exploded in the second quarter with a 31 point outburst to pull away. Five straight from Chelcie Kizart to open the second would set the tone. Cloud forced turnovers on both of Colby's first two second quarter possessions. Tucker continued her hot shooting from deep for Colby, but the T-Birds caught fire and pulled away for good. Cloud County used a 22-5 run to close the half and took a 53-33 lead into halftime.

Broeckelman helped Cloud close out the half and led the T-Birds with 16 of her 22 points in the first half.

Colby came out of the break and went on a 9-2 run to pull back within 13. The run prompted a timeout by Cloud County Head Coach Brett Erkenbrack. The T-Birds scored five straight out of the timeout to regain momentum and close out the quarter with a 73-53 lead.

With the game in hand, Erkenbrack got to rest his starters and got quality minutes out of his bench. The T-Birds outscored Colby 33-13 in the quarter and went on to win it 106-66.
