Cloud County Community College sophomore Brooke Lougheed has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Division I Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, September 1.

The libero earns her first ever weekly honors from the KJCCC after recording 88 digs last week, including tallying 73 digs and a .921 reception percentage at the 2026 Wrangler Ranger Round Up in Texas. The T-Birds finished the tournament 2-2 with wins over three-time defending NJCAA Division III national champion Dallas College-Eastfield and host Ranger College.

Lougheed, a native of Spruce View, Alberta, Canada, opened the week with 15 digs in Cloud County's sweep of Bethany College JV in the team's home opener on August 26.

Lougheed recorded 14 digs and a career-high four service aces in the team's five-set victory over NJCAA Division III No. 1 Dallas College-Eastfield on August 28, winning by set scores of 19-25, 25-23, 25-18, 11-25, 18-16. The loss was the first for the Harvester Bees since August 23, 2025, snapping the team's 33 match win streak.

That same day, Lougheed posted a team-high 19 digs as Cloud County swept host Ranger College, winning by 25-20, 26-24, 25-20 margins.

Lougheed set a career-high against Cisco College on August 29, registering a team-best 23 digs in Cloud County's four-set loss to the Wranglers. Lougheed also accounted for a team-high 17 digs and three service aces in the team's five-set loss to unbeaten No. 20 Arizona Western College.

Lougheed's 149 digs lead the KJCCC in the early part of the 2026 season, while her 4.03 digs per set are tied for first place in the conference with Colby Community College sophomore libero Anita Ferri.

The T-Birds are 6-3 to begin the 2026 season, matching last year's season win total and marking the program's best start since 2023. Lougheed has registered double-digit digs in all nine matches this season.

Lougheed and the T-Birds are back in action on Wednesday, September 2, hosting Garden City Community College to open KJCCC play. Match time is set for 6:30 pm and will stream on the T-Bird Sports Network.
