The Cloud County Community College volleyball team returns to Arley Bryant Gymnasium Wednesday, September 2 for its Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) opener.

The T-Birds (6-3) will host Garden City Community College (1-7) at 6:30 pm Wednesday. The match will be streamed live on the T-Bird Sports Network.

Cloud County wrapped up its non-conference slate by finishing 2-2 at the 2026 Wrangler Ranger Round Up after defeating Dallas College-Eastfield and Ranger College on Friday, August 28.

In their first match of the weekend, the T-Birds posted a five-set victory over NJCAA Division III No. 1 Dallas College-Eastfield, winning by set scores of 19-25, 25-23, 25-18, 11-25, 18-16. The loss was the first for the Harvester Bees since August 23, 2025, snapping the team's 33 match win streak.

Freshman outside hitter Samira Bousri paced Cloud County's attack, recording 20 kills and 14 digs. Freshman outside hitter Karina Castellar had 11 kills and three digs. Freshman middle hitter Bella Ikard added six kills, while sophomore right side Kenadie Casanova finished with five kills.

Freshman setter Giulia Todesco dished out 47 assists to go with 13 digs. Sophomore libero Brooke Lougheed, named this week as the KJCCC Divsion I Defensive Player of the Week, provided 14 digs and four aces, while sophomore defensive specialist Addyson Ogle had 10 digs and three aces.

Cloud County swept host Ranger College in their final match of the day Friday, winning by 25-20, 26-24, 25-20 margins.

Bousri led the way with 18 kills, nine digs and four aces. Castellar chipped in 11 kills and seven digs. Casanova had six kills. Lougheed posted a team-high 19 digs, while Todesco finished with 14 digs and 36 assists.

The T-Birds opened competition Saturday, August 29 by dropping a four-set match to host Cisco College, 29-27, 19-25, 24-26, 21-25. Castellar tallied a team-high 18 kills to go with nine digs and two blocks. Bousri had 13 kills and 21 digs. Lougheed had a team-best 23 digs, while Todesco turned 45 assists. Off the bench, freshman outside hitter Dora Kuburovic registered six kills, while freshman middle hitter Kynlee Hamel added four kills, three digs and three blocks.

Cloud County concluded the weekend with a five-set loss to unbeaten Arizona Western College, 26-24, 20-25, 16-25, 22-25, 5-15, becoming the only team in seven matches so far to hand the Matadors a set loss. Bousri again led Cloud County with a 15-kill, 15-dig performance. The native of Emden, Lower Saxony, Germany also had three total blocks. Castellar posted 13 kills and five digs. Kuburovic had nine kills, while Ikard finished with six kills and a team-best five total blocks. Todesco dished out 45 assists to go with nine digs. Lougheed accounted for a team-high 17 digs and three aces, while Ogle added nine digs.

Statistically, the T-Birds rank second in the KJCCC in total blocks (52), third in the KJCCC in assists (10.68 assists per set) and digs (15.65 digs per set) and fourth in the KJCCC in kills (11..03 kills per set). Cloud County is hitting .145 as a team while holding opponents to .137.

Bousri leads the team with 4.08 kills per set and is hitting .241. Bousri averages 3.57 digs per set and has a team-high 23 service aces.

Castellar is off to a strong start in her first year as a T-Bird with 2.65 kills per set on .168 hitting with 1.35 digs per set.

Kuburovic is averaging 2.15 kills per set and 2.12 digs per set.

Todesco paces the T-Bird attack with 9.57 assists per set, and she also contributes 2.14 digs per set.

Lougheed (4.03 digs per set) leads the Cloud County back row. Lougheed's 149 digs lead the KJCCC in the early part of the 2026 season, while her 4.03 digs per set are tied for first place in the conference with Colby Community College sophomore libero Anita Ferri.

Garden City is off to a 1-7 start with their lone win a home sweep over Trinidad State College on August 22. The Broncbusters are led by sophomore Beatriz Da Cruz Da Silva, who is putting up 2.08 kills per set on .152 hitting and adds 2.58 digs per set. Sophomore libero Daniella Nogueira leads the Garden City defense with 3.13 digs per set.
