Box Score The Cloud County Community College volleyball team swept its Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference opener from Garden City Community College in Arley Bryant Gymnasium Wednesday, September 2. The T-Birds (7-3, 1-0 KJCCC) snapped a 32-match conference losing streak by recording a three-set victory over the Broncbusters by set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-18.
The win marked Cloud County's first home win over Garden City since October 11, 2021.
Freshman outside hitter
Karina Castellar led the T-Birds with nine kills. Freshman outside hitter
Samira Bousri was next in line with eight kills, 12 digs and a team-high six service aces. Freshman middle hitter
Bella Ikard had six kills on a .444 hitting percentage with two blocks. Freshman outside hitter
Dora Kuburovic put up five kills on a .273 hitting percentage.
Cloud County had four players register double-digit digs, with sophomore libero
Brooke Lougheed notching a team-best 17. Sophomore defensive specialist
Addyson Ogle added 13 digs, while freshman setter
Giulia Todesco finished with 11 digs to go with her team-best 26 assists.
The T-Birds next return to action as the KJCCC slate continues on Wednesday, September 9 at 6 pm at Hutchinson Community College. The Blue Dragons are 5-2 on the season and will play five matches this week in the Blue Dragon Volleyball Classic before its KJCCC contest with Cloud County. Next week's match will stream live on the
