The Cloud County Community College volleyball team enters its second week of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play with a road matchup in Hutchinson. The T-Birds (7-3, 1-0 KJCCC) will face the Blue Dragons (7-5, 1-0 KJCCC) on Wednesday, September 9 at 6 pm in the Hutchinson Sports Arena. The match will stream on the
Blue Dragon Sports Network.
Cloud County is coming off its conference-opening victory over Garden City Community College on September 2, a dominant 3-0 sweep of the Broncbusters by set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-18. The win snapped a 32-match conference losing streak for the T-Birds, who recorded their first home win over Garden City since October 11, 2021.

Karina Castellar led the T-Birds with nine kills. Castellar has played in just 23 of the team's 40 sets this season but ranks second on the team in total kills with 62, an average of 2.70 kills per set.

Samira Bousri was next in line with eight kills, 12 digs and a team-high six service aces. Bousri currently leads KJCCC Division I with 29 service aces and she also ranks in the top five in the conference in total kills (159), kills per set (3.98), total digs (144) and digs per set (3.60).
Freshman middle hitterÂ
Bella Ikard had six kills on a .444 hitting percentage with two blocks. Ikard currently leads the T-Birds in total blocks with 21.

Dora Kuburovic put up five kills on a .273 hitting percentage. Kuburovic has started six matches and ranks third on the team in kills per set (2.18).
Cloud County had four players register double-digit digs against Garden City, with sophomore liberoÂ
Brooke Lougheed notching a team-best 17. Lougheed leads KJCCC Division I with 4.15 digs per set.

Addyson Ogle added 13 digs, while freshman setterÂ
Giulia Todesco finished with 11 digs to go with her team-best 26 assists. Todesco currently ranks second in the conference at 9.50 assists per set.
Hutchinson enters Wednesday's matchup on a three-match losing streak after going 2-3 at the Blue Dragon Volleyball Classic in Hutchinson September 3-5. Hutchinson ranks fifth in KJCCC Division I in hitting percentage (.176) and third in the conference in kills per set (11.68). Freshman outside hitter Giovanna Monteiro leads the way with 4.15 kills per set, which ranks first in KJCCC Division I.
Cloud County has lost 20 straight meetings to Hutchinson. The team's last win over the Blue Dragons was a 3-0 home victory on October 7, 2013.
