Luke Clayton has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, April 28.
Clayton played a pivotal role in helping lead the T-Birds to wins in three of their four KJCCC games with the Barton Community College Cougars last week, improving to 43-5 overall and 24-4 in KJCCC play.
Clayton hit .467 with a .529 on-base percentage in the series. He went 7-for-15 with five extra-base hits, including four home runs. Clayton now has eight home runs in the team's last six games. The native of Prairie Village, Kansas also collected nine RBI and totaled 20 bases in the series.
On the season, Clayton is batting .400 with 42 hits, 12 home runs, nine doubles and 42 RBI.
Clayton becomes the fourth T-Bird this season to win KJCCC Player of the Week honors, joining teammates
Simon Baker,
Kellan Burke and
Lucas Laukkanen from earlier this season.
