Following a dominant outing on the mound, Cloud County Community College sophomore
Cole Linton has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday, April 28.
Linton pitched his second complete game of the season and his fifth in his career as he went the distance in Cloud County's 5-2 win in nine innings at Barton Community College on April 24.
The Goodland, Kansas native threw 113 pitches - 74 for strikes - and held Barton to two earned runs on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Linton has improved to 7-0 on the season, ranking second in KJCCC West with a 3.36 ERA and fifth in strikeouts with 57.
Cloud County returns to action for a four-game KJCCC series against Seward County Community College, beginning with a road doubleheader on Wednesday, April 29 at 1 pm. The T-Birds will then host the Saints for a doubleheader on Saturday, May 2 at 1 pm.
