In the opening game, Highland jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, highlighted by a two-run home run by freshman Kiley Crapo.

Cloud County rallied back to tie the game with three runs in the third. Freshman second baseman Allison Adams opened the scoring with a RBI single, scoring sophomore short stop Maliyah Koster. Harold scored on a defensive throwing error, while Adams scored on a RBI single by freshman third baseman Hannah Gardner.

An error on the T-Birds led to the Scotties regaining the lead at 4-3 in the top of the fourth inning.

The T-Birds answered with four runs in the fifth. Harold registered a one-out double, before being driven in on a RBI single by Adams. Sophomore catcher Emalee Johnson singled to score Adams. Freshman Kadence Hall followed with a RBI single to plate Gardner, while freshman outfielder Brooke Lougheed added a RBI hit to bring in Johnson.

Cloud County extended the lead to 9-4 when freshman first baseman Jaci Vonlintel doubled to score Koster and Harold in the bottom of the sixth inning.
