Box Score 2 The Cloud County Community College softball team opened the 2026 season Tuesday, February 17 with a split against Southeast Community College at the CCCC Softball Field. The T-Birds won the opener 9-8 before falling 11-10 in game two.
Cloud County took the opener 9-8 in seven innings, scoring all nine of their runs in the fourth inning.
Freshman outfielder
Ava Boden reached on an error to start the fourth. After sophomore outfielder
Berkleigh Curtis flew out to center field, sophomore short stop
Maliyah Koster reached on a fielder's choice. Freshman third baseman
Hannah Gardner then skied a three-run home run to center field to put the T-Birds on the board.

Yesenia Zamarron singled to center. Sophomore first baseman
Kendal Ratzlaff then laced a two-run double to center field, tying the game up at 5.

Morgan Williams added an infield single, while Ratzlaff scored on an errant throw by the Bobcats' catcher on a stolen base by Williams.
After Boden drew a two-out walk, Curtis then hit Cloud County's second three-run home run of the fourth inning on a blast to center field to make it 9-5.
Southeast pulled within one in the top of the fifth when freshman catcher Reyse Zobel drilled a two-run home run to left field - her second home run of the game - while freshman outfielder Dajana Garrison added an RBI single to left.

Maddie Harold entered the game and recorded the final two outs of the fifth, the T-Birds turned a lead-saving double play in the sixth, and Harold retired the side in the seventh to secure the game one win.
Harold faced the last ten batters, allowing no runs on two hits with four strikeouts and two walks. She also hit two batters.
Gardner finished 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBI. Curtis also ended up with three RBI and a home run. Ratzlaff went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Southeast scored three runs in the top of the first inning in the nightcap, before Cloud County stormed back with four runs in the bottom of the second. Freshman outfielder
Kadence Hall started the scoring with a double to left that scored Gardner. Freshman first baseman
Jaci Vonlintel scored Hall on an RBI single to left, while Harold was brought home an RBI ground out by freshman catcher
Emily Carver.
The Bobcats responded with seven runs in the top of the third and one run in the fourth, highlighted by a three RBI bases-clearing triple with two outs by freshman outfielder Brett Young and a two-run home run to left by freshman short stop Lexi Paskach.Â
Cloud County made another rally in the bottom of the fifth. Curtis doubled to lead-off the inning and was driven home on a single by Gardner. Harold later belted a grand slam to straightaway center field, trimming Southeast's lead to 11-10.
The T-Birds left one runner stranded to end the inning and two more were left on base in the sixth. Cloud County was sat down in order with two strikeouts and a ground out in the seventh.
Harold pitched 2.2 innings, allowing nine earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts while issuing five walks. Boden pitched in relief, limiting Southeast to two runs on one hit with one walk and one strikeout.
Hall finished game two 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI. Gardner, Harold and Vonlintel had two hits apiece, while Curtis doubled and walked.
Cloud County travels to Columbus, Nebraska for a non-conference doubleheader against Central Community College on Wednesday, February 18. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
