The Cloud County Community College women's track and field team won the 2025 Region 6/Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Coffeyville, Kansas, scoring 197 points. Barton Community College was second with 122 points, and Hutchinson Community College finished third with 95 points.
Cloud County head women's track and field coach Drew Mahin was recognized as this year's Women's Coach of the Year, while freshman sprinter
Maimuna Jallow was named the Track Athlete of the Meet and freshman hurdler and jumper
Nanhi Pannu was the Top Point Athlete of the meet.
The T-Birds tallied nine events wins, two runner-up finishes, and established three new school records at the three day meet that concluded Saturday, May 3 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Coffeyville.
Jallow set new school records and new Region 6 records in both the Women's 100M Dash and the Women's 200M Dash. Jallow established the new top mark in the NJCAA in the 100M Dash this year with a first place finish in a time of 11.18. Jallow also set the top NJCAA mark in the Women's 200M Dash this season by earning another first place win in a time of 22.92.
Sophomore
Rafiatu Nuhu placed third overall in the Women's 200M Dash in a time of 23.72.
Nuhu earned a first place finish in the Women's 400M Dash in a time of 54.22.
In the Women's 800M Run, sophomore
Nontokozo Ncube earned a first place win in a time of 2:11.67. Sophomore
Mercy Angaamchaab placed third individually with a time of 2:12.89. Sophomore
N Vanee Anchike followed in fourth place with a time of 2:13.88.
Anchike added a second place finish in the Women's 1,500M Run in a time of 4:37.20. Angaamchaab placed third individually in the Women's 1,500M Run in a time of 4:42.75.
Anchike also finished third overall in the Women's 5,000M Run in a time of 19:01.64.
In the Women's 3,000M Steeplechase, freshman
Amanda Kotambe earned a first place finish with a national qualifying time of 11:45.73. Sophomore
Joella Mathilda placed seventh in the event with a time of 17:26.81.
The Cloud County Women's 4x800M Relay team of Kotambe, Ncube, Angaamchaab and Anchike finished in first place with a time of 9:09.35.
Freshman
Vivica Addison captured a first place finish in the Women's Javelin Throw with a throw of 151'0". Freshman
Carlie Carlgren finished in fifth place with a throw of 104'0", while freshman
Piper Camp placed seventh individually with a throw of 98'11".
In the Women's High Jump, sophomore
Cordaelia Williams earned a first place finish by clearing a height of 5'4.25". Sophomore
Chenessa Davis placed fourth overall at a height of 4'10.25".
Pannu won the Women's Long Jump, jumping 18'5.25". Freshman
Nele Goesl placed fifth overall at 17'7.5", while Davis was seventh at a distance of 17'2.75".
Pannu later established a new school record in the Women's 400M Hurdles, finishing third individually in a time of 1:02.61.
Pannu also recorded a third place finish in the Women's 100M Hurdles in a time of 14.41. Freshman
Tahlia Lienert finished sixth overall in the Women's 100M Hurdles in a time of 14.56, while Davis placed seventh in a time of 14.92.
Lienert captured a second place finish in the Women's Heptathlon with 4,420 total points. Carlgren was fifth in the event at 3,831 points.
Sophomore
Bradie Medina picked up a second place finish in the Women's Pole Vault at a height of 11'4.25".
Medina later teamed with Goesl, sophomore
Maeva Cure and freshman
Kiley Smich on the Women's 4x100M Relay team that finished in seventh place in a time of 51.37.Â
Smich landed a fifth place finish in the Women's Triple Jump at a distance of 35'6.75". Goesl followed in sixth place at a distance of 35'5".
Sophomore
Margherita Sala posted a season-best throw of 153'5" in the Women's Hammer Throw to finish in fourth place. Addison was tenth overall with a throw of 136'1".
Addison also earned a tenth place finish in the Women's Shot Put with a toss of 32'6.25".
Members of the Cloud County women's track and field team will travel to Manhattan, Kansas for the Ward Haylett Invitational on Friday, May 9 for the team's final meet before the 2025 NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
