The Cloud County Community College women's track and field team traveled to Emporia, Kansas for the midweek Emporia State University Relays on Thursday, April 16.
Freshman
Scholastica Herman captured a first place finish in the Women's 800M Run with a national qualifying time of 2:15.03. Sophomore
Tahlia Lienert placed fifth with a time of 2:22.87. Freshman
McKenzie Baker placed ninth with a time of 2:25.64.
Herman also registered a runner-up finish in the Women's 1,500M Run with a time of 4:40.55.
Freshman
Natassia Burrell picked up a runner-up finish in the Women's Shot Put with a toss of 48'10.25".
In the Women's Discus, freshman
Zoey Sudbeck scored a third place finish with a throw of 139'9".
The Cloud County Women's 4x400M Relay team of Herman, Lienert,
Makaiah Hitchman and
Alexis Smith placed fourth with a time of 3:56.17. A second team of Baker,
Addy Goeckel,
Arihanna Koehn and
Jade Williams placed eighth overall with a time of 4:19.25.
Goeckel recorded an eighth place finish in the Women's 400M Hurdles with a time of 1:05.30.
Lienert earned an eighth place finish in the Women's Long Jump with a leap of 17'9.5".
Lienert also notched a tenth place finish in the Women's 100M Hurdles with a time of 14.57.
Smith posted a ninth place finish in the Women's 400M Dash with a time of 57.02.
Cloud County will send a small squad to the Coyote Classic in Salina, Kansas on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, hosted by Kansas Wesleyan University.
