The Cloud County Community College softball team's home opener against Fort Hays Tech Northwest has been postponed due to winter weather in the north central Kansas area.

Originally scheduled for Thursday, February 20, the doubleheader against Fort Hays Tech Northwest has been postponed with the makeup date to be announced at a later date.

The National Weather Service Office in Topeka has issued an extreme cold warning for Cloud County and north central Kansas through noon on Thursday. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 29 below zero is expected.

The T-Birds now prepare to open their season Saturday, February 22 as they travel to Tonkawa, Oklahoma to play Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. The doubleheader is set to start at 2 pm. The following day, Sunday, February 23, Cloud County will face off against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in a doubleheader in Enid, Oklahoma. The first game is set for noon.
