COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – Closing out the 2021 spring regular-season with a road make-up contest to complete their full complement of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference games, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team would earn a three-set sweep of Coffeyville Community College inside of Nellis Hall on Monday, March 29th.

Defeating the Red Ravens in straight-sets for the second time in two weeks, the T-Birds improve to 14-8 overall and 12-8 in the KJCCC. Coffeyville falls to 9-14 overall and 7-11 in conference play with the defeat as the Red Ravens will play two additional make-up contests at home over the course of the next two days.

Scores of the match were 25-22, 25-22, and 25-23 as Cloud County would be able to hold off a late Coffeyville rally in set one before pulling away in the final points of the second set. A tightly contested third set would see neither team hold a lead of more than three in the set as the T-Birds would score the final two points to break a 23-23 tie and finish off the match to win their third-straight match and seven of their final eight in the regular-season.

Hitting .323 as a team in the match, Cloud County would be led by a team-best 11 kills from Geraldyn Palacios as the sophomore would also have one solo block and two service aces. Lizzy Pfortmiller would lead the team in hitting percentage by putting down nine of her 15 attack attempts for kills while Lakyn Tenbrink added eight kills and a solo block. Finishing with 34 of CCCC's 36 set attempts would be Jaycee Burghart while Linnea Mowry would finish as the only T-Bird to reach double-figure digs with 11.
