Box Score HESSTON, Kan. – Heading on the road following their biggest win of the year, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team would take care of business to defeat Hesston College in straight sets inside of the Yost Center in Hesston, Kansas on Thursday, March 11th.
The win allows Cloud County to improve to 9-7 overall and 8-7 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference as the T-Birds have now won seven of their last 10 matches. Hesston falls to 0-19 overall on the year and 0-14 in the KJCCC following the defeat.
Scores of the match would be 25-17, 25-21, and 25-13 as the T-Birds would end things in just over an hour's time. As a team, Cloud County would hit .270 in the match with 45 kills on 111 total attacks while also getting three total blocks.
Finishing with a team-best 11 kills would be sophomore
Delaney Herold as CCCC would get a balanced attack from their offense.
Lizzy Pfortmiller would add nine kills on the night to go along with four digs while both
Geraldyn Palacios and
Lakyn Tenbrink recorded eight kills.
Recording on 24 of Cloud County's 29 set assists on the evening would be
Jaycee Burghart while Linnea Mowery would put up four set assists to go along with a team-high 15 digs. Burghart would also reach double-digit digs to finish with 11 including seven in the third and final set.
What's Next?
Cloud County will host Coffeyville and Southeast Community College for a 3 p.m. triangular on Monday, March 15th to open up their next week of action. The match between the T-Birds and Red Ravens will be the first of two matchups between the squads this season while the matchup with the Storm will serve as CCCC's non-conference finale. Cloud County and Coffeyville will face off at 3 p.m., with Coffeyville and Southeast playing at 5 p.m. The final match of the day will see CCCC and SCC square off at 7 p.m.
