The Cloud County Community College men's indoor track and field team secured a fifth place finish on Sunday, February 22 at the 2026 NJCAA Region 6/Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas.
The T-Birds earned 81.5 points, with one event win, four runner-up finishes, a meet record in the 600M Run, and a new school record set in the 4x400M Relay.
Sophomore
Abdelaziz Benbrahim earned a first place finish in the Men's 600M Run with a national qualifying, Region 6 record time of 1:17.99. Sophomore
Barafa Abdulazis claimed a fifth place finish with a national qualifying time of 1:19.89.
Benbrahim secured a runner-up finish in the Men's 800M Run with a national qualifying time of 1:52.92. Freshman
Nicholas Johnson finished in eighth place with a national qualifying time of 1:55.49.
Benbrahim also added a fifth place finish in the Men's 1000M Run with a national qualifying time of 2:27.85.
The Cloud County Men's 4x400M Relay team of Abdulazis, sophomore
Alpha Mpofu and freshmen
Keon Williams and
Sonycko Ilet clocked a new school record time of 3:10.93 to earn a second place finish. Their time surpassed the previous school record time of 3:11.64, set in 2022.
Mpofu also secured a runner-up finish in the Men's 400M Dash with a national qualifying time of 46.70. Williams finished in tenth place with a time of 48.42.
Freshman
Conor Matthews soared to a second place finish in the Men's Triple Jump with a national qualifying mark of 48'4.75". Freshman
Daiquan Monteith was sixth overall at a distance of 46'3.5".
Sophomore
Bailey Burns posted a third place finish in the Men's Long Jump with a national qualifying leap of 24'3.5". Matthews placed tenth individually with a mark of 22'4.25".
In the Men's Heptathlon, freshman
Andy Cooper captured a third place finish with 4,348 total points. Sophomore
Cody Sharp was seventh overall with 3,851 points.
The Cloud County Men's 4x800M Relay team of Johnson and freshmen
Gage Taylor,
Zeb Schultze and
Timmy Oladimeji crossed the finish line in 7:55.09 to placed third overall.
Sophomore
Mory Diop cleared a national qualifying height of 6'6.25" in the Men's High Jump to place fifth individually.

Braylon Bittel notched a seventh place finish in the Men's Shot Put with a toss of 48'4.5".
Sophomore
Asa Berry collected an eighth place finish in the Men's Weight Throw with a throw of 50'4.75". Freshman
Jadrian Riley was tenth individually with a toss of 45'10".
The Cloud County Men's 4000M Distance Medley Relay team of Johnson, Taylor, Schultze and freshman
Davis Miltner recorded an eighth place finish with a time of 10:37.18.
Sophomore
Gelasa Degefa Abdisa scored a ninth place finish in the Men's 1 Mile Run with a time of 4:33.42.
The T-Birds will get some time off before returning on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 for the 2026 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility in Topeka, Kansas.
