The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) has named Cloud County sophomore sprinter
Alpha Mpofu as the conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. Mpofu has received the weekly award for the second consecutive week.
Mpofu competed this past weekend at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska. He claimed the 200M and 400M titles in Lincoln. Mpofu won the 200M Dash in a national qualifying time of 21.30. Mpofu claimed the 400M Dash title in a national qualifying time of 47.01.
Mpofu also ran the anchor leg for Cloud County's 4x400M Relay team that improved their NJCAA-qualified time to 3:12.45, running a split of 46.75 seconds.
This weekend, Cloud County travels to Topeka, Kansas for the Washburn University Ichabod Invitational at the Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility on Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14.
