Two members of the Cloud County Community College women's indoor track and field team earned event wins, and sophomore sprinter
Maimuna Jallow broke two meet records at the 2026 Washburn Open in Topeka, Kansas.
Jallow continued her early season tear in the Women's 60M Dash, recording a first place finish with a new meet record and NJCAA-leading time of 7.32. Jallow also won the Women's 200M Dash, establishing another meet record with a NJCAA-leading time of 23.66.
Jallow joined together with freshmen
Scholastica Herman,
Makaiah Hitchman and
Alexis Smith on the Women's 4x400M Relay team that placed fifth in a NJCAA national qualifying time of 3:54.11.
Herman added another national qualifying time of 5:08.25 in the Women's 1 Mile Run, breaking the Papua New Guinea indoor national record.
Freshman
Whitney Scott recorded a first place finish in the Women's Pole Vault Open with a vault of 10'6", bringing Cloud County's event win total to three on the weekend.
The T-Birds also saw a strong performance from sophomore
Tahlia Lienert in the Women's Indoor Pentathlon. Lienert finished in tenth place and qualified for the NJCAA Indoor track and field championships with a personal-record 3301 points.
Cloud County will split its team to two different meets next week, with a small group heading to the Fred Beile Track and Field Classic at Doane University in Crete, Nebraska on February 7, and the majority of the team competing February 6 and 7 at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.
