The Cloud County Community College women's indoor track and field team captured a third place finish with 90 points at the 2026 NJCAA Region 6/Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Track & Field Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Drew Mahin, Cloud County Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, was also named the 2026 Region 6 Women's Indoor Coach of the Year.
Sophomore
Tahlia Lienert delivered a championship performance in the Women's Indoor Penthathlon, earning a first place finish with 3,337 total points. Sophomore
Carlie Carlgren placed fifth individually with 2,939 points.
Lienert also captured a fifth place finish in the Women's 60M Hurdles with a time of 8.98, and added a sixth place finish in the Women's 600M Run with a time of 1:40.50. Freshman
Scholastica Herman scored a sixth place finish in the Women's 600M Run with a national qualifying time of 1:37.57. Freshman
Addy Goeckel was ninth with a time of 1:41.77.
Herman secured a runner-up finish in the Women's 1000M Run with a national qualifying time of 2:58.63.
Herman also added a third place finish in the Women's 800M Run with a national qualifying time of 2:19.64. Freshman
McKenzie Baker placed seventh overall with a time of 2:28.12.
In the Women's Shot Put, freshman
Natassia Burrell recorded a runner-up finish with a national qualifying mark of 49'5.5". Freshman
Zoey Sudbeck posted a national qualifying mark of 42'11.5", while freshman
Eliza Miles finished tenth overall with a throw of 36'7".
Burrell picked up a third place finish in the Women's Weight Throw with a national qualifying mark of 54'2". Sudbeck was sixth individually with a throw of 49'2.25".
Freshman
Whitney Scott soared to a third place finish in the Women's Pole Vault with a national qualifying mark of 10'6".
Freshman
Maureen Jepchirchir registered top-ten finishes in both the Women's 5000M Run and the Women's 3000M Run. Jepchirchir earned a third place finish in the 5000M with a time of 19:02.73, and added a ninth place finish in the 3000M with a time of 10:58.57.
Jepchirchir also teamed with Herman, Baker and freshman
Makaiah Hitchman on the Women's 4000M Distance Medley Relay that captured a fourth place finish in a national qualifying time of 12:48.97.
Hitchman and Goeckel ran with freshmen
Alexis Smith and
Arihanna Koehn on the Women's 4x400M Relay team, crossing the finish line in 4:01.42 to finish in seventh place.
Smith scored a sixth place finish in the Women's 400M Dash with a time of 58.82. Hitchman was ninth with a time of 1:00.02.
Sophomore
Nele Gösl landed three top-ten placings. Gösl posted a sixth place finish in the Women's Triple Jump with a leap of 34'11.75". Gösl was tenth in the long jump at a distance of 16'9.75", and finished in tenth place in the high jump at a height of 4'7.75".
The T-Birds will now look forward to the 2026 NJCAAÂ Indoor Track & Field Championships, March 6-7, hosted by Washburn University at the Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility in Topeka, Kansas.
