Cloud County Women's Track & Field Team Opens Outdoor Season at Jayhawk Spring Fling

The Cloud County Community College women's track and field team opened its 2026 outdoor season at the Jayhawk Spring Fling, hosted by the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday, March 21.

Freshman Jesse Hoover took first place in the Women's Javelin Throw with a throw of 143'3". 

Freshman Natassia Burrell had a pair of top-five finishes for the T-Birds. Burrell placed third in the Women's Discus Throw with a toss of 156'1". Burrell also hit a mark of 148'6" in the Women's Hammer Throw to place fifth individually.

Freshman Zoey Sudbeck took fifth in the Women's Discus Throw with a throw of 141'10", and she placed eighth in the Women's Hammer Throw with a throw of 136'10".

On the track, freshman Scholastica Herman earned a second place finish in the Women's 1500M Run with a time of 5:00.36.

Herman added a third place finish in the Women's 800M Run with a time of 2:15.39. Freshman McKenzie Baker placed seventh individually with a time of 2:27.21.

Cloud County is back in action on Saturday, March 28 at the Mark A. Phillips Invitational in Arkansas City, Kansas.
