The Cloud County Community College women's cross country team claimed the team title at the 2026 Tiger Ambush XC Open in Winfield, Kansas on Friday, October 2nd.

The T-Birds posted a team score of 36 points to finish ahead of host Cowley College, Dodge City and Neosho County. The T-Birds placed all seven runners in the top 25.

Sophomore Faith Jepchumba led the way for Cloud County, winning her first individual 5k with a time of 18:32.4.

Jepchumba was followed closely by freshman Scholastica Herman, who finished second individually with a time of 19:20.1.

Freshman Breonna Peterson added an eighth place finish in 20:02.8.

Freshman Kaiyanna Alexander also placed in the top 10, finishing 10th overall with a time of 20:39.6.

Freshman Isabelle Smith posted a 16th place finish with a time of 21:01.8. Freshman Annie Logie placed 19th with a time of 21:09.1, while freshman Rylie Jessup rounded out the team in 25th place with a time of 22:58.4.

Cloud County will return to action next weekend at the Fort Hays State University Tiger Open. The race is slated for Saturday, October 10 at Tiger Cross Country Course in Hays, Kansas.
