Cloud County Community College sophomore Faith Jepchumba has been named the NJCAA Division I Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week after posting a top-25 finish at the 2026 Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin, Missouri last weekend.

This is the second time Jepchumba has earned national runner of the week honors. Earlier this week, Jepchumba was also named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season.

A native of Eldoret, Kenya, Jepchumba placed 23rd overall against a loaded field at the 2026 Missouri Southern Stampede, clocking 18:32.5 in the 5k race against NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NAIA runners. Jepchumba was the highest-finishing NJCAA runner in the field.

Jepchumba's performance helped the T-Birds finish 13th with 376 points, the highest among two-year schools at the event.

Cloud County is idle this weekend and will return to competition on Friday, October 2 at Cowley College's Tiger Ambush XC Open in Winfield, Kansas. The men race at 9 am, followed by the women at 9:45 am.
