The Cloud County Community College women's cross country team placed 13th at the 2026 Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin, Missouri on Saturday, September 19.
The 5k race saw a challenging field for the T-Birds, with one NCAA Division I, ten NCAA Division II and one NAIA squad finishing ahead of the T-Birds.
Cloud County secured 13th place with 376 points, the highest among two-year schools at the event.
Sophomore
Faith Jepchumba led the charge, clocking 18:32.5 to finish 23rd overall.
Freshman
Scholastica Herman was next across the finish line in 56th place with a time of 19:27.7.
Freshman
Breonna Peterson placed 118th with a time of 20:26.2. Freshman
Kaiyanna Alexander finished 140th with a time of 20:47.1 Freshman
Annie Logie placed 166th with a time of 21:14.0. Freshman
Isabelle Smith followed closely in 185th place with a time of 21:39.6. Freshman
Rylie Jessup rounded out the scoring, crossing in 23:21.7 to place 224th.
The Cloud County women's cross country team next turns its attention to the 38th Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Saturday, October 3. The women's collegiate Prairie Fire Pepper 5k is scheduled to begin at 12:10 pm at the University of Arkansas' cross country course.
