Cloud County Community College sophomore sprinter
Maimuna Jallow has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, January 21.
Jallow, a native of Sare-Futa, Gambia, earns her first indoor weekly honor this season and her fourth in her Cloud County career.
In her first competition of 2026, Jallow set a facility record and a new meet record time of 7.30 in the 60-meter Dash, before later turning in another meet record time of 23.82 in the 200-meter Dash at the Washburn University Rust Buster on Friday, January 16.
Jallow leads all of the NJCAA in the 60-meters and the 200-meters and has qualified for the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in both events. Jallow is also the NJCAA indoor record holder in the 60-meters (7.19) and the 200-meters (22.86). She ended her freshman indoor season with three of the top-six marks in NJCAA history in the 60-meters and two of the top-three in the 200-meters on her way to two national championships and recognition as the NJCAA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year.
Jallow and the T-Birds are back in action on Saturday, January 24 at the NAIA/JUCO Challenge in Pittsburg, Kansas.
