Cloud County Community College sophomore Mercy Angaamchaab has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, April 29.

Angaamchaab competed this past weekend in the 2025 Rock Chalk Classic hosted by the University of Kansas. The native of Accra, Ghana finished in second place in the Women's 800M Run, recording a personal-record, national qualifying time of 2:11.83. Angaamchaab's time currently ranks 13th in the NJCAA this season.

Angaamchaab was one of two T-Bird runners to place in the top three in the Women's 800M Run at the Rock Chalk Classic. Sophomore N Vanee Anchike followed in third place with a national qualifying time of 2:12.69.

The Cloud County women's track and field program has won the KJCCC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award five times this season. This is the first outdoor award for Angaamchaab.

The T-Birds will compete in the Region 6/Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Championships May 1-3 in Coffeyville, Kansas.
