Following four first-place finishes in the 2025 Region 6 Indoor Track & Field Championships, Cloud County Community College sophomore
N Vanee Anchike has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Track Athlete of the Week.
Anchike finished as the Women's High Point Athlete of the Meet, helping to guide the Cloud County women's track and field team to its second consecutive Region 6 Indoor Championship title. The T-Birds finished the meet with 175.5 points with nine region championships and six runner-up finishes.
Anchike won the Women's 5,000M Run with a time of 17:36.03.
Anchike claimed another region title in the Women's One Mile Run, with a time of 5:19.60.
Anchike added to her list of region titles by winning the Women's 3,000M Run with a time of 10:28.33.
Anchike was also part of the Women's 4,000M Distance Medley team that earned a region championship. Joined by sophomore teammates
Mercy Angaamchaab,
Rafiatu Nuhu and
Nontokozo Ncube, Cloud County won the medley with a time of 12:06.51.
Up next, Anchike and members of the Cloud County women's indoor track and field team prepare for the 2025 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships to be held March 7-8 at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.
