The Cloud County Community College women's indoor track and field team remains ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA rankings released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The T-Birds have 293.41 points in the rankings, behind only New Mexico Junior College (353.84 points).
The T-Birds are also ranked No. 1 in the Central Region with 489.31 points. Barton ranks second (372.59), followed by Fort Scott (224.20), Hutchinson (221.56) and Cowley (218.63).
Cloud County concluded the 2025 indoor regular season at the Washburn University Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, Kansas on February 14 and 15. The T-Birds recorded two first-place finishes and one second-place finish in the meet.
Sophomore
N Vanee Anchike picked up a first place finish in the Women's 800M Run in a personal-record time of 2:11.77. The time moves Anchike to number three on the NJCAA list this season and is the 17th best time all-time on the NJCAA charts.
For her efforts, Anchike was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Anchike was one of three T-Birds to place in the top ten in the 800M at the Ichabod Invitational. Sophomore
Mercy Angaamchaab was sixth individually with a time of 2:15.25, while freshman
Amanda Kotambe crossed the finish line in 2:19.68 to finish in tenth place.
In the Women's 600 Yard Run, sophomore
Nontokozo Ncube was first overall in a time of 1:24.80. Freshman
Nanhi Pannu was fourth in a time of 1:29.38, while freshman
Tahlia Lienert finished sixth in a time of 1:30.11.
Sophomore
Chenessa Davis continues to impress, placing second overall in the Women's 60M Hurdles in a time of 8.59. Davis also added a tenth place finish in the Women's High Jump at a mark of 5'1".
The Cloud County women's indoor track and field team will be in action again Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23 at the 2025 Region 6/Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kansas.
