The Cloud County Community College men's cross country team came in at No. 22 in the Week 4 edition of the 2025 NJCAA Division I Men's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll, which was released last week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This is the final set of rankings before the 2025 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, which will be held at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Saturday, November 8.
The T-Birds moved up two spots in the national poll after earning a sixth place team finish at the 2025 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Cross Country Championships, hosted by Colby Community College on October 24. The T-Birds finished in fifth place in Division I, matching their same team placing from last year's conference championship race in Winfield, Kansas.
Sophomore
Gelasa Degefa Abdisa was the top finisher for Cloud County, earning a top-20 placing by finishing in 17th place overall. Abdisa completed the 8k course in 25:55.20.
Freshman
Davis Miltner was the next T-Bird to cross the line, finishing 25th overall with a time of 26:37.47. He was followed by
Abdelaziz Benbrahim in 31st with a time of 27:09.43. Freshman
Nicholas Johnson was 44th with a time of 28:12.91, while freshman
Zeb Schultze rounded out the top five by placing 53rd with a time of 28:50.23.
Also competing for the T-Birds were freshman
Korbin Dykes (56th, 28:55.36), freshman
Jesus Baltazar (59th, 29:00.89), and sophomore
Cody Sharp (65th, 29:55.21).
Cloud County will travel this weekend for the 2025 NJCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Championships. The men's 8k race is set for 12 pm.
